St Philip & St James Church Drama Group

SPJC Drama Group Info

The Drama Group has been running at St Philip & St James' Church since 1958 and has performed a wide range of musicals, revues and pantomimes. The January pantomimes are very popular in the local community and pack the halls every year.

The drama group is based at St Philip & St James' Church in Odd Down, which is very fortunate in having its own theatre. However, although many members are drawn from the church, a large proportion come from other local churches and the community.

The group has the policy that all who would like to perform on the stage are given a chance, and some very talented individuals have emerged. Despite our amateur status, many audiences are surprised by the quality of performance that has been achieved in past shows.

As well as the popular community pantomimes the group sometimes put on other shows. In December 2011 we put on a Christmas Show called Tonight There is A Star and in January 2014 we performed C.S.Lewis's magical tale of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. See the Past Shows link above for more info.
